Living in a built-up city environment, it can be easy to lose a sense of connection to each other, daily human interactions get forgotten, and individual voices and noises are drowned out. This artwork has taken the time to sit and listen to people and places, highlighting the rich diversity in history and culture that makes the area so special. The final artwork uses the data centre façade as a vehicle to bring the sounds of this community to life. In playing with the idea of data and information processing, the artwork is generated using sound clips from the local area, including interviews, conversations and sound scapes from businesses and public spaces.
